I'm an expat whose goal is to visit every country in the world.

After visiting and exploring 111 countries and territories, I had a very strong desire and a lot of encouragement to share my different travel experiences and lessons I have learned while traveling the world. Traveling with a View is the result of that desire.
You will find blog entries about many different aspects of travel, expat life, positive and negative travel experiences, and a travel diary that chronicles my goal to visit every country and territory in the world. I always enjoy reading your comments, so please feel free to share your thoughts!
I also take a lot of photographs, so you are more than welcome to browse the photo gallery featuring some of my favorite photos I have taken during my travels.
Unlike a lot of people who often start traveling in their late teens or early twenties, I only started traveling with relative frequency at the age of 27. Therefore, I believe that I offer a different perspective from a late thirtysomething expatriate who has been living and working overseas for over ten years.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or feedback. I am always open to suggestions, networking opportunities, and appreciate all feedback.

One of the last holidays that I took in the summer of 2023 was an eight-day tour through western Cuba. While I initially was not sure what to expect, it exceeded my expectations in every way.
The last stop of the Guianas tour was a visit to French Guiana, which is the only French-speaking country in South America.
Suriname is the only Dutch-speaking country in South America and is quite different from the rest of its neighbors on the continent. After several years of having it on my travel list, I finally had a chance to visit and explore its treasures.
