On April 26, 1986, a nuclear accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant occurred that resulted in many deaths and heavy irradiation of the surrounding area. However, today, the power plant is a major tourist attraction, especially the abandoned town of Pripyat.
Melk Abbey is as an absolute jewel. It is a definite must-see site for any visitor to Austria who enjoys history and art. In addition, believers and non-believers alike should pay a visit and take in ethos and admire the aesthetics of an eighteenth-century treasure.
Even though cemeteries are places are mourning and keep the earthly remains of those that have gone before, they can often not only have beautiful aesthetics but also a lot of history. La Recoleta Cemetery in Argentina is a perfect example of this.
Uruguay is a South American country that a lot of people don't know much about, but it is a beautiful place that is absolutely worth visiting.
