While traveling throughout South America, I stopped in Bolivia. Even though my time in Bolivia was short, I used the limited time that I had to check out La Paz, which is a fascinating city of 2.3 million people.
In its heyday, the Sacred Valley of Peru formed the heart of the Inca Empire. However, now it is a major tourist attraction with plentiful ruins and archaeological sites to explore. I had the opportunity to take a day tour through the Sacred Valley with stops in Chincero, Moray, Salineras de Mara, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac.
Machu Picchu is one of the most famous sites in the world and has been on my travel bucket list for a long time. I finally had the chance to visit the mysterious Incan city, and it was an unforgettable experience.
Religion plays a major role in many people’s lives throughout the world. This is clearly shown in the devotion to Catholic religious practices in South America. When I was in Lima, Peru, I came upon a religious procession in honor of Our Lady of Carmel.
