A Day Tour of the Sacred Valley

In its heyday, the Sacred Valley of Peru formed the heart of the Inca Empire. However, now it is a major tourist attraction with plentiful ruins and archaeological sites to explore. I had the opportunity to take a day tour through the Sacred Valley with stops in Chincero, Moray, Salineras de Mara, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac.

A Religious Procession in Lima

Religion plays a major role in many people’s lives throughout the world. This is clearly shown in the devotion to Catholic religious practices in South America. When I was in Lima, Peru, I came upon a religious procession in honor of Our Lady of Carmel.

The Journey to Peru

In the summer of 2018, I was blessed to have been given a significant amount of vacation time, so I decided to use the time wisely and travel back to South America since there was so much I wanted to see. My four-country journey through South America started in Peru.
